Women’s Volleyball Earns Second Straight USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award

BEREA, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team has been selected as a recipient of the United States Marine Corps (USMC)/American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award.

The award which is in its 27th year, honors teams from NCAA Division I, II and III; NAIA women; two-year colleges; the NCCAA; collegiate men; collegiate beach volleyball; and high school girls and boys programs that maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.

Under the guidance of first-year Head Coach Kacie Ehinger, BW was one of 1,313 teams to be recognized by the USMC/AVCA for the 2019-20 academic year.   The Yellow Jackets earned the accolade for the second straight season, thanks to a 3.63 team cumulative GPA.

BW concluded the 2019 campaign with an overall record of 23-6 and 5-4 mark in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Yellow Jackets advanced to the OAC Tournament semifinal for the second straight season.
