BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University volleyball team under the direction of third-year Head Coach Scott Carter opens the 2016 season when it travels to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to compete in the Greyhound Premier Invitational hosted by Moravian College on September 1-2.
The schedule features two home tournaments highlighted by the 19th annual Marcia French Memorial Tournament on September 8 and 9 on the campuses of BW and Case Western Reserve University. The Yellow Jackets will also host the annual Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference and Ohio Athletic Conference Crossover on September 22-23. BW will also play one final tournament when it travels to Oneonta, New York to compete in the Hartwick College Invitational on September 15-16.
The Yellow Jackets will play in a tri-match when it travels to Buffalo, New York on September 29-30 when it faces host D'Youville College, Grove City (Pa.) College and Alfred State (N.Y.) University.
BW will play non-league road dual matches against Penn State Behrend College on September 18 and cross-town rival Case Western Reserve University on September 20.
The Yellow Jackets open OAC action on Thursday, September 28 when they travel to Marietta for a conference clash with Marietta College. BW will host league matches against the University of Mount Union on October 3, cross-town rival John Carroll University on October 10, Muskingum University on October 14 and will close the home schedule with a Seniors' and Parents' Day match against Otterbein University on October 21.
The OAC Tournament is slated for October 31 to November 5
The Yellow Jackets finished the 2016 season with an overall record of 24-6 and a mark of 5-4 in the OAC standings. BW advanced to the OAC Tournament semifinals for the first time since the 2011 campaign.
