Three Women’s Track and Field Athletes Garner USTFCCA All-American Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Three Baldwin Wallace University women's track and field student-athletes have garnered United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) All-America honors for the 2020 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships.

While normal policies dictate the honor goes to the top-eight finishers in both individual and relay events, the executive committee adopted the following criteria as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic cancelling the NCAA Championships. Based on selected participants initially announced by the NCAA, the following are now recognized as All-Americans:

  • Individual events: All student-athletes declared and initially accepted.
  • Relay events: Members of ALL relays who produced the performance that was declared and accepted.

Senior All-American, All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC distance runner Kelly Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) and senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC throwers Brooke Buckhannon (Collins/Western Reserve) and Jillian Roberts (Broadview Heights/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) earned All-American accolades in three events.

Off the track, she is an accounting and finance double major that carries a 3.974 grade point average.  Brennan is a five-time Academic All-OAC selection, College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American and All-District 7 first-team selections, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, member of the Alpha Lambda Delta and Chi Sigma Alpha honoraries.

Buckhannon garners her first All-American honor as she qualified in the weight throw.  She is a two-time national qualifier, 10-time All-OAC thrower and a five-time All-Ohio performer. Buckhannon has been an OAC champion on four occasions and an All-Ohio champion in the weight throw, hammer throw, shot put and discus.
