Brennan Earns Second Career OAC Track Athlete of the Week Accolade

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University junior outdoor All-American distance runner Kelly Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) has been selected as the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the second time in her career.

Helping the Yellow Jackets to a third-place finish at the All-Ohio Indoor Championships, Brennan won both the 800-meter run and the 1-mile run to notch the fifth and sixth All-Ohio accolades of her career. The junior started off with a career-best and All-Ohio meet-record time of 5:03.36 to win the 1-mile, and then followed it up with a 2:17.06 finish in the 800. Brennan's mile time currently ranks 17th nationally while her 800 time is 16th in NCAA Division III.

Last year, Brennan earned her first All-America honor in the outdoor 800 in just her first trip to an NCAA Track Championship Meet. In her career, she has a combined six All-Ohio honors, five All-OAC accolades and five United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Great Lakes Region honors. Brennan also currently holds the indoor 3,000-meter run, indoor 5,000-meter run and outdoor 800-meter run school records.

BW will return to the track on Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Raider Tune Up, hosted by the University of Mount Union at 12 p.m. inside the McPherson Academic & Athletic Complex.
