Title: Assistant Coach

JALEEL RICHARDSON '16 enters his third season as an assistant wrestling coach at Baldwin Wallace University in 2018-2019. He is no stranger to the Yellow Jacket program and competed for three-plus seasons for current Head Coach Jamie Gibbs.

Richardson was both an outstanding student and wrestler at BW.  The Dean's List student and Jacket Scholar served a Student Fellow in the BW Center of Innovation & Growth. On the mat, he alternated during his career between the 133, 141 and 149 weight classes and works with those groups today.

Richardson wrestled for three seasons and earned one varsity letter (as a senior in 2015-2016). He battled for mat time at 133, 141 and 149 pounds and compiled a 9-38 record. Richardson helped BW to compile a 43-16 record in dual matches during his career, win the 2016 Ohio Athletic Conference title and place an all-time-best second at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Tournament in '16.

A year ago as an assistant coach, Richardson again helped BW to compile a school-record 22 wins, a 22-4 record, a Division III national ranking by the NWCA (National Wrtestling Coaches Association), an undefeated, 6-0 OAC record, a second straight OAC title and a second consecutive second place finish at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Tournament.

In addition to his exploits in the classroom and on the mat at BW, Richardson was a member of the "Voices of Praise" Gospel Singing Group, Performance Ensamble and Residence Life student assistant.
