CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's cross country team competed in the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Championships, hosted by Cedarville University on the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.
In an eight-kilometer event that was composed entirely of colleges from the state of Ohio, the race featured schools from the NCAA Division I, II, and III level, and from NAIA institutions as well. For Division III, BW managed to place eighth out of 18 teams, scoring 222 adjusted points. When including participating schools across all divisions, the Yellow Jackets came in 17th place out of 38 teams with 527 total points. Otterbein University took home the Division III title with 32 adjusted points, and the University of Dayton finished in first overall with 93 total points.
Two of BW's runners earned All-Ohio honors, doing so by placing in the top 35. Junior Spencer Roberts (West Seneca, N.Y./West) spearheaded the BW runners with a 29th place finish and a final time of 27:27.3, earning All-Ohio honors for the first time in his career. Trailing not too far behind were junior Andrew Krupp (Ottawa Hills) and senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference Isaac Wilson (Tylersburg, Pa./North Clarion) who finished 35th in 27:38.8 and 38th in 27:41.0, respectively. Krupp's finish secured him All-Ohio honors for the first time in his career as well. Junior Jose Reynoso (Painesville/Harvey) came in 65th place with a final time of 28:32.0. Rounding out the top five for the Yellow Jackets was sophomore David Prather (Hardin, Mont.) who placed 68th in a career-best 28:38.9.
The Yellow Jackets will return to the racecourse on Saturday, October 5 when they travel to Louisville, Kentucky to compete in the Greater Louisville Classic in Tom Sawyer State Park, hosted by the University of Louisville.
