Baldwin Wallace Men Finish Third and Women Fifth in Bill Sudeck Invitational Cross Country Meet

BEREA, OHIO - The Baldwin Wallace University men's cross country team placed third and the women were fifth today (Saturday, August 30, 2008) at the season-opening and Annual Bill Sudeck Case Western Reserve University Invitational Meet at the Squire Farms in Hunting Valley, Ohio.

 The Yellow Jacket men totalled 83 points and placed third of eight school. The BW women had 125 points and were fifth of 10 teams.

 Individually for the men, senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference runner Derek Hill (Fremont/ Ross) led the way as he completed the 8K course in 26:54 overall and was fourth of 130 total runners. He was followed by seniorNate Bowen (Fremont/ Ross) in eighth place in 27:17, junior Jimmy Eberts (North Canton/ Hoover) in 29th place in 28:31.60, junior Jeff Bonezzi (Medina/ Senior) in 30th place in 28:35.00 and junior Mark Buhoveckey (Brunswick/ Parma Padua Fransiscan) in 38th place in 29:00.00. For complete Yellow Jacket results, please view the 2008 Season Bests.

 Individually for the women, sophomore Kim Chinn (Zanesville/ West Muskingum) led the way as she completed the 5K course in 19:17.00 overall and placed fourth of 139 total runners. She was followed by sophomore All-OAC runner D'Arcy Hlavin (Berea) in sixth place in 19:37.00, sophomore All-OAC runnerKaren Coyne (Columbia Station/ Columbia) in 30th place in 21:07.80, sophomore Katie White (Berea) in 52nd place in 21:51.00 and sophomore Krysten Kovach (North Royalton/ Parma Padua Fransiscan) in 53rd place in 21:52.00.  For complete Yellow Jacket results, please view the 2008 Season Bests.

 Next Saturday, September 6, the Yellow Jackets travel to Hanover, Indiana to compete at the Hanover College Invitational Meet at 11:00 a.m. Hanover also will be the site of the 2008 NCAA Division III National Championshipm Meet on November 22.
