HILTON HEAD, S. C. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team defeated St. John Fisher (N.Y.) College by a score of 5-4 to open their spring break schedule.
BW (6-0) was led by the duo of senior two-time Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference and All-OAC Matt Harris (Akron/Revere) and senior two-time All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Dominic Polifrone (Hudson) took the lone doubles victory with a score of 8-4.
Polifrone sealed the first singles with a score of 6-0, 6-0 and Harris won his match 6-1, 6-0. Sophomore Michael Benotti (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon) won the third singles match 6-3, 6-1. Freshman Edwin Schartman (Westlake) sealed the fifth singles by a score of 6-4 and 6-4 to seal BW's match victory.
BW will be back in action on Wednesday, March 3 to play Eastern Nazerene (Mass.) College at 8:30 a.m.
