Reid Ayers enters his 18th season as the Head Men's Soccer Coach at Baldwin Wallace University in 2019-2020.  During his tenure at BW, Ayers has won more than 300 games and is the schools all-time winningest coach in both men's and the women's soccer.

Ayers, the University's first full-time head coach, led his team to its first-ever NCAA Division III National Tournament appearance and to a school-record 16 wins in 2011-2012. The Yellow Jackets have been nationally recognized by the former National Soccer Coaches Association of America (now United Soccer Coaches), achieving their highest ranking of No. 7 in 2008-2009.

Under Ayers' guidance, BW players produced 14 All-Region honorees, 23 All-Ohio players and eight OAC positional Players of the Year. In addition to the accomplishments on the field, BW has established a tradition of excellence in the classroom. The team has earned Team Academic honors 15 times in the last 17 years and was awarded the Team Ethics Award of Merit by the NSCAA. The program has produced six Co-SIDA/ Google Cloud Academic All-Americans and two NSCAA / United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Americans since 2006.

An avid student of the game, Ayers holds his National 'A' and National Youth Licenses from the United States Soccer Federation as well as a Premier Diploma from the NSCAA. He is active in the highest levels of coaching throughout the country having worked with US Soccer assisting in selecting players for inclusion into the country's youth national teams in addition to serving as a head coach for the Region II Olympic Development Program. Also, Ayers has served as a Professional Match Evaluator for Major League Soccer and is a member of the Ohio Youth Soccer Association North State Coaching Education Staff. 

Ayers earned the prestigious Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association Honor Award and Hall of Fame accolades in the spring of 2019. Also, in 2017, he was honored with Ohio's Director of Coaching Award recognizing "exceptional contributions to the growth and development of the game and who served to inspire us by example” and has twice been tabbed as an OAC Coach of the Year. He is a regional chair on the United Soccer Coaches All-American committee and serves on the executive board of the OCSA.

In 2002, Ayers completed his Masters of Arts degree from Kent State University in Sport and Recreation Management. A 1988 graduate of Hiram College, he was team captain his junior and senior seasons and earned Most Valuable Player honors as a senior.  A three-time All-Presidents Conference performer, Ayers is amongst the Hiram College all-time leaders in career and season assists. He holds the distinction of starting every game in his college career.
