Reid Ayers enters his 18th season as the Head Men's Soccer Coach at Baldwin Wallace University in 2019-2020.  During his tenure at BW, Ayers has won more than 300 games and is the schools all-time winningest coach in both men's and the women's soccer.

Ayers, the University's first full-time head coach, led his team to its first-ever NCAA Division III National Tournament appearance and to a school-record 16 wins in 2011-2012. The Yellow Jackets have been nationally recognized by the former National Soccer Coaches Association of America (now United Soccer Coaches), achieving their highest ranking of No. 7 in 2008-2009. Under Ayers' guidance, BW has produced 12 All-Region players and eight OAC positional Players of the Year. 

In addition to the accomplishments on the field, BW has established a tradition of excellence under Ayers in the classroom. The team has earned Team Academic honors 14 times and was awarded the Team Ethics Award of Merit by the NSCAA. The program has produced six CoSIDA/ Google Cloud Academic All-Americans and two NSCAA Scholar All-Americans since 2006.

An avid student of the game, Ayers holds his National 'A' and National Youth Licenses from the United States Soccer Federation as well as a Premier Diploma from the NSCAA. He is active in the highest levels of coaching throughout the country having worked with US soccer assisting in selecting players for inclusion into the country's youth national teams. He is an Age Group Head Coach for the Region II Olympic Development Program, where he assesses and trains elite players from 13 different states preparing them for domestic and international competition. Ayers has served as a Professional Match Evaluator for Major League Soccer and scout for the USSF Development Academy. He also is a member of the Ohio Youth Soccer Association North State Coaching Education Staff. 

In 2017, Ayers was honored with Ohio's Director of Coaching Award recognizing "exceptional contributions to the growth and development of the game and who served to inspire us by example." Ayers has twice been tabbed as an OAC Coach of the Year and serves on the executive board of the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association and the United Soccer Coaching ranking and All-American committees. 

In 2002, Ayers completed his Masters of Arts degree from Kent State University in Sport and Recreation Management. A 1988 graduate of Hiram College, he was team captain his junior and senior seasons and earned Most Valuable Player honors as a senior.  A three-time All-Presidents Conference performer, Ayers is amongst the Hiram College all-time leaders in career and season assists. He holds the distinction of starting every game in his college career.
