BEREA, Ohio – Under the direction of veteran head coach Reid Ayers, the Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team opens up the 2019 season at the annual Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament, hosted by Penn State Behrend (Pa.) College.
The Yellow Jackets will take on Chatham (Pa.) University in the season opener on Saturday, Aug. 31, at 2:30 p.m. in Erie, Pennsylvania, and then will compete in either the championship or consolation game on Sunday, Sept. 1.
Following a road game against Allegheny (Pa.) College, BW hosts Denison University on Saturday, Sept. 7, for the team's home opener at 7 p.m. inside George Finnie Stadium.
On Sept. 14, the Yellow Jackets will celebrate the 50th anniversary of men's soccer by hosting the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford (Pa.) at 2 p.m. inside Finnie Stadium. Other home non-conference games include Grove City (Pa.) College on Sept. 25 and the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg (Pa.) on Oct. 1.
Ohio Athletic Conference action opens up on Saturday, Oct. 5, when the Yellow Jackets travel to Bexley to take on Capital University. Otterbein University, Muskingum University, defending OAC champion and crosstown rival John Carroll University and the University of Mount Union all travel to Berea for home OAC contests in 2019.
BW wraps up the regular season on the road against Marietta College on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m.
The Yellow Jackets finished the 2018 season with an overall record of 7-10-2 and a mark of 2-6-1 in the OAC.
