MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team fell 3-2 to Allegheny (Pa.) College in non-conference action at Frank B. Fuhrer Field.

After BW (2-3-1 overall) took the first five shots of the game, junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference forward Joey Geither (Parma/ Normandy) found a fellow junior Academic All-OAC forward Cannon Dees (Berea/ Berea-Midpark) at the top of the box. From the left sideline, Dees dribbled right and buried his third goal of the season into the top right corner of the net to give BW a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute. Just two minutes and two shots on goal later, Allegheny (3-2) quickly tied the game at 1-1.

Looking to regain the lead, the Yellow Jackets remained on the offensive in the first half but sent three shots wide and had two shots saved. However, the Gators were able to take advantage of a blocked shot in the box to go up 2-1 in the 35th minute.

Both teams traded a save to start the second half before Allegheny added to its lead in the 55th minute. A corner kick from Dees in the 69th minute set up freshman midfielder Attila Nagy Jr. (Lakewood) for his first collegiate goal, bringing BW within one goal of the lead at 3-2. The Yellow Jackets had a few other opportunities to even things up and force overtime when Geither had a shot saved by Cory Wiard in the 73rd minute and a shot by junior  All-OAC midfielder Kurt Raney (Mentor) hit the post in the 86th minute.

In the net, senior Academic All-OAC goalkeeper Brian Haviland (Grasonville, Md./Kent Island) made three saves on the six shots he faced as he suffered his second loss of the season.

BW wraps up its four-game road trip on Saturday, Sept. 15, when the Yellow Jackets return to Pennsylvania to take on Pitt.-Bradford at 2:15 p.m.
