BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University junior three-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC forward Danny Ruple (Berea/Berea-Midpark) has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District 7 Team for the second consecutive year.
Along with the rest of the first-team Academic All-District honorees, Ruple now moves on to the Academic All-America ballot, which will be announced in December. He was named a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American a year ago.
An accounting major, Ruple carries a 3.89 grade point average and is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and an Academic All-OAC selection.
This season, Ruple was among the conference leaders yet again in all offensive categories. His team-leading 14 goals, 10 assists and 38 points ranked him third in goals and second in assists and points, respectively. Ruple broke two school records during the course of the season – single season shots with 85 and career points with 105 – in addition to the two single-season records he holds from 2017.
For his career, Ruple has appeared in all 57 games with 56 starts and has recorded 41 goals, 23 assists and 105 points. He is just five goals and five assists away from breaking the all-time school records in those categories. He was named OAC Freshman of the Year in 2016 and has been selected to the All-OAC team every season.
BW finished the 2018 campaign with an overall record of 7-10-2 and a 2-6-1 mark in the OAC.
