Baldwin Wallace Men’s Hoops Quartet Named All-OAC

BEREA, Ohio --  Four Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball student-athletes, senior guard Justin Roth (Parma), senior point guard Jaron Crowe (Mentor), senior forward Matt Dennis (Spring Hill, Fla./ Nature Coast Techincal) and freshman guard Cameron Kuhn (Vermilion), were named to the 2014-2015 All-Ohio Athletic Conference men's basketball team. Kuhn also was named as the OAC Co-Freshman of the Year.

Roth, who made the first team, earned his first All-OAC honor.  Crowe earned his second straight accolade and was a second team pick.  Kuhn was named Freshman of the Year and was a honorable mention selection along with Dennis. Roth, who transferred to BW from NCAA Division II Lake Erie College and missed all of last season due to an injury, led the OAC in scoring at 18.5 points-per-game. He also grabbed 3.7 rebounds-per-game and had a team-high 88 three-pointers to go with 64 asssists and 32 steals. Roth had a career-high 26 points against OAC and Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University on January 21, 2015. He also earned OAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors on Nov. 24, 2014 and was the Al Sirat Grotto Player of the Game versus Wilmington College on Feb. 14, 2015. In just two-plus seasons, Roth scored 606 points, grabbed 120 rebounds and had 101 three-pointers.

Crowe earned first team honors a year ago and ended his career with 1,002 points and was second all-time in school history with 481 assists. This season, he averaged 9.6 ppg., 2.3 rpg. with a team-leading 132 assists and was second with 55 three-pointers and third with 30 steals.  Crowe tied his career-high of 29 points against JCU on Feb. 11, 2015. In addition to his career points and assists, Crowe earned OAC Player of the Week honors in 2013 and last season, was a third-team All-Great Lakes Region pick last season by the web site and had 217 career rebounds, 162 three-pointers and 104 steals.

Dennis was a four-year varsity contributor, including the last two seasons as a starter. This season, he averaged a career-best 10.0 ppg. and 6.5 rpg. and shot 54.5 percent from the floor. Dennis also had career-highs of 32 assists, 42 steals and 50 blocked shots. He ended his career as a 52.8% shooter (163 of 309) and had 455 points, 369 rebounds and 90 blocks. His best scoring game was a 23-point performance at Wilmington on December 20, 2014, and he had a career-high 14 rebounds at Westminster (Pa.) College on Dec. 30.

Kuhn had one of the finest freshman seasons in BW history. He finished second on the team in scoring at 14.0 ppg., grabbed 3.0 rpg. and had 57 assists, 24 steals and 21 three-pointers. Kuhn shot 50.4% from the floor (125 of 248) and 89.1% from the foul line (106 of 119). He had a career-high 25 points at Pine Manor (Mass.) College on January 6, 2015. Kuhn also had a streak of 37 straight made free throws. He is the first BW freshman since Kyle Payne (2011) to be named as OAC Freshman of the Year.

The Yellow Jacket men compiled an 18-9 overall record this season for its fourth straight winning season.  The senior class produced a 67-38 record.
