Arroyo Garners Second Career OAC Wrestler of the Week Accolade

UNIONTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference wrestler Anthony Arroyo (Maumee) has been selected as the OAC Wrestler of the Week for the second time in his career.

Arroyo, who earned his first weekly accolade on February 8, 2016, pinned all three of his opponents at the 165-pound weight class in just two minutes and 18 seconds to led the 20th-nationally ranked Yellow Jackets to a 3-0 record at last Saturday's Gator "Boots" Duals hosted by Luther (Iowa) College in Nashville, Tennessee.

Arroyo opened the duals as he picked up the pinfall victory against his Olivet (Mich.) College opponent in a mere 18 seconds. He then defeated his Millikin (Ill.) University by pinfall in 57 seconds.   Arroyo closed out the duals with a pinfall victory against his Loras (Iowa) College opponent in one minute and 43 seconds.

This season, Arroyo has posted a record of 14-2 with eight pins.   He won the individual title at the Trine (Ind.) Invitational at 165-pounds on November 12.

For his career, Arroyo has compiled a career-record of 38-11 with 24 pins.  He was a first-team All-OAC selection and a first-team D3wrestling.com All-Freshman selection as a freshman.
