Lehman Earns First Career OAC Wrestler of the Week Honor

UNIONTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University sophomore wrestler Zeckary Lehman (Akron/Revere) has been named the OAC Wrestler of the Week for the first time in his career.

Lehman, who is the third consecutive BW wrestler to be named the wrestler of the week this season, went 4-1 at the 184-pound weight class to lead the No. 15-nationally ranked Yellow Jackets to a fifth place finish at the two-day National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) National Duals. BW finished the duals with a 4-1 record and with its only loss coming against No. 1-nationally ranked and defending NCAA Division III national champion Wartburg (Iowa) College.

He opened the duals with an 8-0 major decision against No. 13-nationally ranked New York University. Then Lehman defeated his opponent in The College of New Jersey match with an 11-1 major decision. He followed that up with an 8-4 decision in the match against No. 12-nationally ranked Coe (Iowa) College. Lehman picked up a 9-6 victory against No. 18-nationally ranked the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater to close out the duals. His only loss came against the No. 6-nationally ranked 184-pounder in the Wartburg match.

This season, who missed last season due to an injury, Lehman has posted a 16-4 record with four falls and two major decisions. He also won the 184-pound individual title at the Trine (Ind.) Invitational on November 12.
