Two Men's Cross Country Student-Athletes Garner Academic All-OAC Accolades

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Two Baldwin Wallace University men's cross country student-athletes have been named to the 2017 Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.

In order to be selected to the Academic All-OAC team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

Junior Phil Spronz (Strongsville) and sophomore Isaac Wilson (Tylersburg, Pa./North Clarion) are two of the 40 fall student-athletes to be recognized.

Spronz, who earns his first Academic All-OAC accolade, is a marketing and finance double major who carries a 3.51 GPA. He is a Dean's List student and a member of the BW Italian Club. He also served as a 2017 summer intern in the Center for Innovation and Growth. Spronz had a season-best 8k time of 28:04.2 at the 2017 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships.

Wilson, who also garners his first Academic All-OAC honor, is an exercise science major who carries a 3.66 GPA. He had a standout sophomore campaign, earning his first career All-Ohio honors after a top-35 finish at the All-Ohio Division III Championships, winning his first individual title at the Shenandoah (Va.) Hornet Harrier Meet and being named the OAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the first time in his career. Wilson ran a season-best and career-best 8k time of 26:01.1 at the Ohio Wesleyan University Invitational.
