BEREA, Ohio- Baldwin Wallace University and All-Ohio Athletic Conference sophomore forward Danny Ruple (Berea/Berea-Midpark) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 7 Team.

Ruple and the rest of the first-team Academic All-District nominees now advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, which will be announced in December.

An accounting and finance double major, Ruple carries a 3.88 GPA and is a Dean's List student.

This season, Ruple led the Yellow Jackets and the OAC in most offensive categories: goals (19), points (45) and shots (75). His 19 goals and 45 points broke two separate single-season records set back in 2011. He was named OAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week on Sept. 18 while also netting his first two career hat tricks against Bluffton University on Sept. 16 and Muskingum University on Oct. 14.

For his career, Ruple has appeared in 38 games and tallied 27 goals and 13 assists for 67 points on 132 shots. He was named OAC Freshman of the Year in 2016 and earned a second-team selection.

BW finished the year with an overall record of 5-12-2 and a 1-7-1 mark in the OAC.
